Steering wheel / Tracking problems

Hello all

I'm new to the forum as well as RRS ownership so my apologies if this has been covered off before.

Picked up my 2011 sport a couple of weeks back and I love it, apart from my steering wheel is out of alignment, by this I mean if I hold it stright the car moves left, and under breaking there is a vibration and steering wheel wants to pull left.

Now I went back to the garage who had the car for a few days and said the have carried out a 4 wheel laser alignment, and this is normal for a sport on 22" overfinch wheels. The breaking they have said should sort its self out and could be due to being stood. I'm no fool and realise the breaking problem is likely warped disks and/or pad, but the steering problem is something I cannot figure out. I've taken it to a friend who has balanced the wheels which has helped, but it's so annoying to have to hold the wheel at an angle.

Any help would be appreciated as I know Range Rover would build a car and pass it like thi. The car is 2011 sport overfinch car, 29,000 miles, all tyres are virtually new, 22" overfinch wheel

Thanks Richie

Did the garage that did the alignment give you a print out of the suspension settings? If not, why not would be my first question. The steering wheel can be set to be level when the wheels are aligned; if it is a long way out then it might need to be removed and rotated on the splines. If it's a long way out of level then that begs the question as to whether there is something amiss on the track rods - perhaps they have been adjusted to their limits.

I'd get a second opinion from a garage that has the Hawkeye Hunter system. You should get a print out which might be useful to take back to the original garage to argue your case.

As to the vibration under braking, this sounds like disks.

Bear in mind that your car has oversized wheels fitted. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks

No print out as the garage is in Harrogate and I live near Newark on Trent so they collected it and dropped it back. I'll take it to another garage and get a second opinion as suggested

Thanks

Take it to a garage that has the Hunter alignment system & make sure they know what they are doing,,I've got a computerised system in my tyre bay but only do the tracking with it as the ramp/lift we use is usually being used for mot's.
Also as for your steering wheel being slightly out, mine is the same since I fitted 22's,,the steering wheel is slightly to the right when travelling straight but I've kept a eye on the tyres & they aren't scubbing off so I'm leaving as is because the 20's will be going back on soon as they have new winter tyres on so if I adjust the alignment for the 22's I'll have to redu it back again.
