Front to rear brake pipe replacement

Hello all, my 2006 RRS TDV6 has just failed its MOT on excessively corroded brake pipes.

The dealer has stated that this is the front to rear pipes, which need to be replaced and estimated (without the full report) that it could potentially be in the region of £1300 - £1800 to complete the work?

Any one know if this is a ball park figure for this type of job?

check this post as I think the dealers price is way too much, usually you can join the brake pipes halfway along the car where the worst parts usually are, you should try someone on here or a local indy.

Thanks for the reply and link, I've read about all sorts of prices on here ranging from £300 up to £2000 but I can't seem to find anyone that has actually had them done at a dealer. Totally understand that it would probably cost more at a dealership.

Dealers tend to replace the full pipe, which is a body off job

A good Indy will only replace be rusty part. For reference, I charge £150 all in, to replace the rear half of the pipework, which is the only part that ever gives any issue Thumbs Up

Hey Disco_Mikey, it's a shame you're all the way up in Scotland!

I've just found a local Indy place who will do it all including a full major service for less than £800.

Looks like I'll be off to pick my car up and give the dealership a nice hand gesture 👍🏻

Why not have a nice little drive up to Scotland ? In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Just had my rear pipes replaced at Rovertune in Reading. A competitive price for down south too. Must say £800 inc B service sounds a lot.

Good luck!

It's a lot less than the final bill of £3k that Land Rover we're going to charge me.

Out of curiosity, how much should I be looking at for the replacement brake pipes, front to rear and a major service?

£250 for a "B" service, using OEM parts (assuming its a 2.7. The 3.0, 3.6 + petrol models are £300)
£150 for brake pipes

Thumbs Up

It is the 2.7, those prices you mention, I assume doesn't include the labour costs....it's that that tends to hike up the price isn't it?
