almost certainly intercooler pipe has a split or has delaminated. Bodsys Brake Bible

I had the same and it turned out to be the actual inter cooler had a split in the outer casing. Got that replaced and changed to silicone hoses while I was at it. Embarrassing smoke gone! |

So looks like the culprit is the intercooler pipe then,

it's very simple indeed. you just need to locate the cover by the front offside wheel arch (for the TVD6 in any case), take that off to give you access to the bottom end of the pipe. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
