I've Come back!

After a few years of defecting over to Audi I've finally decided to come back to RRS ownership I've purchased a really nice one owner SDV6 Black Edition with 14k on the clock in grey with black & contrast stitching. I'm flying up to Scotland to pick her up next Saturday 28th so it's going to be a long week! I've always missed ownership ever since I sold my last SC & Audi have been far too reliable for me I haven't had to visit the dealership once for repair in 3yrs and 3 different cars! Laughing Laughing

I'm going to need the following if anybody can point me in the right direction?
Gap insurance
Tyre insurance
Side steps supply and fit (stealer wanted £2,225 Rolling with laughter )
One of those spare tyre anti theft devices

I'll put some pictures up soon as I get her (sure you've all seen one in grey before) but I'll put them up anyway Laughing
So just 8 sleeps to go then!! Big Cry

What tyres do these run on now mine has Pirelli all round? I thought they run on Conti's ??? Cheers Laurence.

Welcome back Buster, I also returned to RRS last week, collection in London on 28th. I never left the brand though - since the TDv8 RRS I've had a TDv8 FFRR and two Evoques, now taking delivery of an SDv6 HSE Dynamic in Corris. Might pass you somewhere on the M6 as I head north back to Scotland! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Very good.

The spare (space saver) is in the boot these days, no security required. You may want a tracker though, and a ferocious guard dog and a wheel clamp.

Mine came from factory in Contis, replaced with Pirelli. Much prefer the Pirellies, but Contis do allow for more hooligan antics at the expense of comfort and tyre wear-rate.

Good luck on your 'big day'! L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

thanks guys it feels great to be back - even though I haven't got her home yet!
She's a 13 plate last of the older shape I'm pretty sure the spare is still under the car? Cheers Laurence.

Very nice, Thumbs Up
I think the run out models are excellent value for the money, It's a nice cabin to be travelling in. Much improved over the earlier models.

Couldn't wait until Saturday got a flight to Glasgow yesterday picked her up and drove her home! I've never bought a car withow out seeing it in the flesh first But I wasn't disserpointed she is absolutely lovely, looks like her previous owner was as careful as us lot! Not a mark, scratch or stone chip anywhere the inside is just as clean I couldn't have been happier! The 440 mile drive home was a pleasure I could've turned around and done it all again when I got home I enjoyed it that much!
I was slightly concerned about getting the SDV6 my last RRS was a SC but this has plenty of power, mid range is extremely good! Looks like I averaged around 31mpg aver the 440 mile trip so im very happy!
The multi media system will take a bit of getting used too! Seems quite busy and dose lots of things? Is there a quick way of making a phone call instead of saying 'telephone / call contact then the name? A quick glance over the instructions says something about voice tags?
I had a bit of wobble overge 90mph so taken it in to Jet Tyres turns out two of my tyres had water in them? Anyone heard of this before? Cheers Laurence.

Buster, hope your drive south was as good as mine today was down to Lutonfrom Glasgow via an overnight stop in Lancaster.
Could have done without the endless M6 and M1 roadworks but they were great for getting the fuel figure up to 57.9mpg in my 9 speed Evoque - somehow I don't think the RRS will be quite that good on the way north on Sunday though, I'll be going home via the M40/M42/M6/M74 which hopefully will have less 40-60mph avaerage speed cams in operation
Water in the tyres - recently there have been several reports of this - over zealous use of a jet/ pressure washer near to the beading seems to be the concenus for the cause. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim the SDv6 HSE Dynamic is a lovely car and in the colour I would have picked for sure, your going to love driving that! Think you might struggle getting 57.9mpg but please let us know what you do get I'd be very interested to know what it dose?

Yes loved the drive back but watch out for speed camera vans on bridges on the M74 mate I shot towards one at about 90 slowed down to 70 not sure if it was in time - still waiting to see if a ticket falls on my doorstep Shocked

Cant wait to see the pictures of your new toy Tim Thumbs Up Cheers Laurence.
