Its out of warranty now and what dealer charges is just ridiclous. I like working on my cars and want to do things correctly. Always use genuine oil and filters etc and saves me heaps of coins, and gives me peace of mind that all done is correct.

To my knowledge, there's no other method for your vehicle.

From MY08 the following works on the D3. I am told that it work on later model RRS too, but I use an IIDTool as my patience is limited:

That's an interesting thought that LR have continued a useful feature for once. Out of curiosity more than anything, I'd like to know for sure if that does indeed work on later vehicles as I'd assumed that from 10MY on it wouldn't as I could find no mention of it still working; I suppose they aren't old enough yet for that many people to be self servicing? I tried all that on my 10MY HSE RRS. Does not work ( no reset Buttons) As i understand it has to be done on diagnostic. Main Dealer Technition did mine as a favour, whilst sorting out otherr problems,on diognostic itisme |

You are best off with an IID tool from Gap diagnostics. Sold in the uk through britpart dealers. I know britpart normally means , but not in this case. A very comprehensive solution for all fault code reading, resetting and calibration/service activities. Bodsys Brake Bible

I use a IID tool on mine purchased from Island 4X4 in the UK. I got the non Bluetooth version as its cheaper and does the same functions. (Other than live readings I believe)

Whilst the original IIDTool can access the same live data as the Bluetooth version it does do a much better job of it. For some diagnostics you need the ability to display multiple lines of data, or even graph them over time. This is where the BT version come into its own. It is also a lot easier and quicker to use too.

I bought the IID tool myself after seeing it used, well worth the investment tbh. I activated my timed climate, tow bar electrics and few other useful things. Plus you can sell it when you sell the car at a later date. Resetting the service indicator is easy too. Current 2010 Range Rover Sport HSE with the usual toys: timed climate, Rosen headrest screens, tow bar with twin electrics, Blackvue HD cam

As above in my post, Island 4X4 in the UK I found was the best and cheapest source from Australia.
