weird stiffness in turning since the cold weather?

My steering very odd at the minute
It's sort of heavy and stays heavy on turning. Levels are okay. I had it tested about 6 months back by my mechanic where he tested it with a device that floated balls to give a reading Smile so not sure but a fast search points to a pump? I've it booked to go to a service in 2 weeks so ill have them check but like to be fore armed than caught out with car science by a sales man.

I'd check the lower steering column first. Takes about 1/2 hour to change and replacement is about £70istr. The joint starts to seize up after a while. Try wd40 on it first, if it makes it easier, then that's the problem. Bodsys Brake Bible
