Water in passenger footwell

Hi all ... new here.

I started to get misted windows inside - as the temperature started to drop in October last year. Didn't think too much of it at the time.

In November I found water in the footwell of the passenger side. The rear passenger carpet was also sodden with water. Since then I have checked the sunroof drains and ensured they were clear by pouring water down them - which duly discharged where it should behind both front wheels, so I'm pretty sure it is not from there. I removed the wing grilles and cleared the outlets there - though I am not sure what they are connected too. There are no visible leaks when a hose pipe is run over the roof and screen areas.

Today I have noticed mildew forming at the base of the passenger side door pillar (where top seatbelt mounting is)

Any thoughts please...

Is a design issue with the windscreen pillar - there is a service action on this. Do a search and to start you off see my post in this thread

Had water ingress in passenger footwell and in my case it turned out to be loose fitting plenum chamber cover (the black plastic bit in front of the windscreen).

Water was leaking past the cover where it meets the windscreen and finding its way into the heater air intake and dripping thro' onto the carpet.

Can be fixed just by making sure the securing clips are all fully pushed home. Its a known problem. See this Land Rover bulletin for a list of possible causes and fixes.

Good luck. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I have exactly the same issue. Very hesitant to take it to the dealer as they will charge me an arm and a leg to diagnose it!!! I've looked at the sunroof and they are draining perfectly. I've also replaced the clips on the a frame as per the TSB. Can't work out what is causing the leak in the passenger footwell. Im worried it may cause more damage if I leave it any longer.

There is no point just replacing the clips - you have to put sealant anound them as well to seal the holes particularly the bottom oval hole that does not have s clip just a stabiliser moulding into the outer pillar moulding. 07MY RRS TDV6

Apart from my water leak... which I still hav'nt got to the bottom of, I now find that my heated front windscreen only works on the passenger side Crying or Very sad

I will be looking at the fuses initially. Also found out this evening that the 12v charging point in the boot is not working. (Apart from that all is fine Thud )

While retrofitting Adaptive Cruise I found the source of water ingress in the Driver side footwell. The Connection between the door and the Body has a large rubber cable duct. This does not fit water tight. I have since popped all of the and applied Black RTV and reinstalled them and have since had a dry floor.

Had it MOT'd at the local dealership last week. I asked them to have a quick look at the sunroof drain outlets whilst it was up on the ramps.

They air blasted and water tested them and found them to ok. They checked the windsceen seals during its courtesy wash n' polish but couldn't find anything there.

Seems it needs more investigation, as carpets etc will need to be lifted - could take 2 days Big Cry

Hi, i recently had the same problem with water ingress into the passenger side footwell and it turned out to be the passenger sunroof drain,so after a long investigation i found that when i poured water quickly down the passenger sunroof drain channel the water ran out out behind the vent where it should,(the force of the water pushing it through) but if i poured it down slowly (like rain water would be) most of the water was coming back into the car under the carpet as there was a crack in the sunroof drain pipe behind the fuse box where the pipe goes through the bodywork, got a new passenger side drain tube fitted and it has been dry ever since, hope this might help Thumbs Up

Found a large chip in the windscreen this weekend, just above the drivers side wiper. That might explain the drivers side of the heated front screen not working. It's a bit of a deep crater.

I had a chat with my L/R insurers today and now have an appointment for a new windscreen to be fitted. £80 excess covers it. I hate to guess what a screen replacement costs !! (Anyone know how much.......... roughly ?)

I will now be able to eliminate the windscreen from the water ingress equation at least Laughing
