Key not found

Hi guys,

For last few weeks i have weird issue - if i dont lock the car within 5 minutes or so, i cannot start it! Starter engine will spin but it wont start. And if i lock it and leave it for 3-5 minutes everything will be fine. I changed battery inside the key, but still same issue. MY R R S 2010

Not up to speed on keyless go type keys, the older variant charged while in the ignition, there are various threads on here about short battery life but it sounds like your key may need re-programmed due to low battery at some point. I know the batteries in keys are usually changed at annual service so maybe an idea to make a note of when changed. Sounds like a trip to the dealer with both keys.... 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

I think from memory, some of the owners were complaining keys only lasted 7 or 8 months so don't make any accusations yet Rolling with laughter
I always write a date on batteries when I change them, yes it's anal, but then get an idea how long they last. Battery should show up on a service invoice, but I know some dealers just list a service pack rather than individual items. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Cheers for replies,

I actually never had - low battery in key warning. I only decided to change it when this "stuff" started happening. Like i mentioned - its only does this when not locked in first minute or so. Dreading this trip to stealer... MY R R S 2010

To be honest it seems like a sensible security measure, so that if you forget to lock the car some theiving sod can't just drive the car up on to a low loader and have it away with your pride and joy
