Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

EUREKA!! IVE GOT IT!!

the RRS must have been on 13" wheels!!

seriously though, you cant even max out a 200mph supercar these days without having a billiard smooth straight road of about 3 miles. its that last 15-20mph that is hard to achieve due to drag. wind speed etc!

cheers

Gone: a comprehensive list of imprezas and a Merc ML AMG

The speedo could easily have a 10 percent error margin. I managed 165 mph in my audi on GPS and the speedo was in excess of 170 I did not look too long as my eyes were on the road in front, at these speeds you cover ground very quickly, although the car was extremely well planted you could feel it going light. I would not want to try it in a Sport with all that weight and high centre of gravity and also stopping would take ages. This took place on a quiet autobahn with no speed restrictions.

As in my post a quiet and without speed restriction close to Wiesbaden where my German side of the family live. Traffic on most autobahns is too heavy for high speeds and so you must chose them wisely also many of them do have speed restrictions and a lot of roadworks. I chose a Sport because speed is becoming impossible on modern roads and the track is the only safe place now for speed. I took a trip round the ring with Sabina Schmidt in her Porsche just over 7 minutes if ever you have a need for speed I thoroughly recommend it Thumbs Up

PS I have no desire to lose my licence and spend time in jail at 165mph you would.

Theoretically, a 2.7 TDV6 will do 175mph, given the gearing.

70mph is approx 2000rpm (35-ish mph per 1000rpm). The upper rev limit is 5000rpm

However, the 2.7 is way way underpowered to do anything like that Laughing

No idea what the gearing is like on the petrol models, but I imagine the theoretical top speed would be similar, given the higher rev limit...

So, given enough power, a derestricted speed limiter, a huge pair of balls, and a long enough straight, 160mph SHOULD be possible

But, we still don't know if that was an indicated, or GPS 160mph. I had a Fabia vRS at an indicated 140mph, which had an official top speed of 128mph (on an Autobahn Thumbs Up )
