That is awesome! But serious mpg Wink
It must have felt rickety a bit? I'd never want to push mine that hard, I had an engine management light pop up on hard revving to 90mph and gave up wanting to press the engine. I've it booked for a new fuel filter to see if that helps.

Grats though - just keep it on the track!

I thought top speed is limited by the gearing and aerodynamics and not so much by BHP......... Gone but not forgotten, 2005 RRS SC first edition, BMW 2010 Z4,TVR Tamora, TVR Cerb, MERC SL 55 AMG, E46 M3, Z4, Jag S type R, Skyline R33 GTR 640 bhp, Evo FQ 400, L322 RR, X5, Lotus Esprit V8 twin turbo, Lotus Elise 135r, Nissan Murano, Honda S2000, 911, Boxster s...and a few more

Must have a pub speedo fitted. Not very wise when tyres are speed rated at 123 mph. Whistle 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

How do you know what speed rating his tyres are? You can get tyres for the RRS that will handle 160mph. Hell, my ATs are rated at 130mph and you wouldn't consider them to be a "performance tyre".

Anyway, it's load rating that's important - the speed rating just tells you how fast it will go when the tyre is carrying its maximum load. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Not sure if this is 100% correct but I thought the RRS SC pre 2010 was limited to 140mph? Not sure for the 5.0 SC.

When I got the ECU tuned they removed the Vmax limit but retained the rev limit to avoid damaging the engine.

Therefore it may theoretically be able to reach 160mph if you can overcome the aerodynamics of a single storey house with the additional bhp.... Not sure what the final drive ratio on the RRS SC is and what wheels are being used.

Tyre wise shouldn't be an issue I'm running Toyo Proxis STIIs on 22s, which are rated 106W XLs so suitable up to 270kph or 168mph, the official 20" tyre rating is actually 106Y good to 300kph.

Not that I've got close to trying it out, I bottle at the 140mph as it felt decidedly unstable...

Cheers

When I was invited to the Gaydon supercharge launch event sure we went up to 147mph on test track and handling was incredible in the hands of their test drivers. Mpg was 6mpg Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

There is a HUGE difference between 147 and 160 just like there is a huge difference between 180 and 200 mph..everything just gets that bit more difficult after 155 (thats why most cars are limited to 155) and the difficulty increases.with the speed..the resistance from air pressure doesnt remain constant..it climbs the faster you are going..the air flow under the car can cause lift etc...like i said earlier...gearing and aerodynamics are key...not bhp. How many bhp would a cruise liner have compared to a speed boat? which one would you say is likely to be quicker? Gone but not forgotten, 2005 RRS SC first edition, BMW 2010 Z4,TVR Tamora, TVR Cerb, MERC SL 55 AMG, E46 M3, Z4, Jag S type R, Skyline R33 GTR 640 bhp, Evo FQ 400, L322 RR, X5, Lotus Esprit V8 twin turbo, Lotus Elise 135r, Nissan Murano, Honda S2000, 911, Boxster s...and a few more

My comment above was about the handling not the top speed but the speedo is not that accurate when compared to gps readings Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
