Getting RRS Chipped

Hi All, having just purchsed my 2006 RRS 2.7TDV6 several people have suggested I get it chipped saying it will improve throttle response and Fuel economy. Is this something that is easily done or a major expensive project?

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Hi Ned, welcome to the site Thumbs Up
Yes chipping the 2.7 engine is a good thing, but i would personally have it remapped. I had mine remapped by Pete at Bell Autos (site sponsor) He knows his stuff and is a great help. Its all done via an interface unit and can be switched back to your original map should you want to for service intervals or warranty work etc. It really does make all the difference having it mapped. Thumbs Up

Blank the EGRs too. That will improve things too. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Had the RRS remapped on Friday. Change is brilliant no lag, excellent pick up and was getting a 36MPG indication. Laughing

I somehow doubt that you are really getting an actual 36mpg unless you constantly drive the Acle straight at 55 mph and accelerate like a Nanna ....try a real fill up check. I did lots of 60mph freeway driving with my RRS (pathetic speed limits here from the Nanny State) and didn't get 36 mpg Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

I doubt it was actually 36 as well hence the added indication at the end. Still an improvement though and I am more pleased about the loss of the Lag.
