Unusual behaviour

Hi folks- any help much appreciated.
Just started the car which has been unused and in the cold for around 2 weeks. On start the front end dropped and then rose again, in a controlled way as if I'd pressed access mode and back to normal. I then noticed smoke streaming out from underneath the engine, visible underneath the front spoiler- is that the pre heat thing? Then when I switched off quite a definite buzzing noise, from where unknown, for about 30 seconds. Any help?

sounds like the fuel burning heater to me for the smoke

though the dropping and raising doesn't sound right, maybe over time the air had leaked out and it needed to re compress the gases, i would see how that goes and check for leaks if it happens again

Buzzing noise sounds like the Fuel Burning Heater. The FBH fan runs for a while after you stop the engine to dissipate the heat.
Not sure about the front end dipping though. It could be it had settled a bit while standing & reset itself after you started it up. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

FBH for the smoke - but it could be some power blip and the air suspension reset for a moment.

More of an issue if it does it again Mike

Another in agreement re: the buzzing and smoking being the FBH Thumbs Up

As for suspension, mine hasn't done that, so as suggested I would just monitor it. 2016 VW Golf GTD DSG

Thanks for the replies. Just got me home no problem so hopefully it was just upset that it hasn't been used

It's normal for the RRS's suspension to adjust itself if it hasn't been driven for a few days, mine does the same thing. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool
