Wales 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue
Battery isolator

I'm thinking about taking my 2007 RRS TDCV8 over to the Alps for a ski season. It would be left inside possibly for a few months without being able to charge the battery so I was thinking about fitting a battery isolator- which I've done with other 4x4 albeit more basic ones than the RRS.
Does anyone know if there would be any implications for the extensive electronics on the car?

I would suggest a battery conditioner would be a better idea. Knowing how silly the RRS can be when its battery is low, I'd hate to think what sort of silliness it would throw up if disconnected for a period of time. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks for reply..leaving conditioner on with property unoccupied May be an issue - but any suggestions on a conditioner?

The c-tek range are usually recommended around here. Haven't used them myself however.

Dodger,

I agree with RRSTDV8 on the Ctek conditioner rather than an isolator and also his recommendation of CTEK. I have used nothing but these Chargers / conditioners since they were introduced. I currently have 4 on my vehicles and the function perfectly. They are ideal for leaving on a vehicle even though property is unoccupied. They are overload & shortcircuit protected so they should ( in theory ) protect the unit and the battery in case of any malfunction. I am away from the UK for many months at a time and these units work perfectly. In factthe only time I ever have a propblem is if they are left off after someone has used my cars.

I cannot recommend them highly enough. I would hazard a suggestion that these answer your question look no further and I can recommend using a site called vertar.co.uk
