sometimes we must do what is required.

I fitted the blanking kit from Bell Autos today, using their excellent instructions. The pipes into the butterfly valve were pretty coked up, and I can see that they wouldnt help airflow into the engine either by their positioning, or the amount of rubbish they were sending back in.

Took me just over 2hours, and cost £50 - somewhat better than the £600 LR had quoted to replace the valves.

It feels so much more lively now, perhaps even better than it was when new Very Happy

Its in for a service next week so we'll see if LR have any comment on it.

The EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve, takes the exhaust gas back into the engine to be burnt, thereby keeping emissions down, only required to meet stupid Euro emission standards. The problem is they coke up and stick or the roller bearings inside break up. Failure rates and mileages vary, nothing you can do until the orange engine light comes on, then blank if it is a pre 2007 car or replace EGR valve in post 2007 cars. Thumbs Up

if the EGR valves are failed does it show a light on the dash?

also, if blanking on a 2007 is the warning light on dash the only issue or will the 2007 not function correctly?

my one is acting up this week and I've checked all hoses... have a feeling it might be egr valves.
really down on power, wont hardly move off from a standing start.
once over 2000 rpm she is on boost and runs away fine.
revs free as a bird standing still.

reading the other posts on here, I hope it isn't turbo failure.

EGR blanking kit fitted.
Sorted!
Luckily my 2007 registered is a 6A engine.... so no issue with warning lights.
Happy days!
