Wales 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange

how can tint be removed ? My front ones had previously been tinted, and the only way I can tell is because there's some small scratches that are noticeable. I'm sure they'd fail, but how would I check, without getting a light meter ? Do MOT stations test for this, as mines just passed an MOT. If thats the case and I get pulled, can I sue MOT station ?  RR Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange 4.2 V8 First edition

Prefer RR Vouge S/C but they don't do Orange !

The police are knobs and haven't anything else better to do.

They made me peel the tint from my old X5 front windows on the spot.

3 patrol cars and a vosa van. How much money wasted. Java black 2006

Not really DRDRILL as I got them re-tinted and managed to negotiate without hitting a biker Thumbs Up
My rangerover factory front tints are darker than the ones i had on the X5 it's just because the X5 was film and they couldn't find anything wrong with the car to ticket me for. Java black 2006

I have seen tint film removed with hair dryer or carefully with heat gun Thumbs Up

Warm it then peel - any glue can be removed with autoglym tar remover Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I'm pretty certain 99% of sunglasses are darker than the run of the mill tinting film which is applied to most cars.

I didnt mention about the windows already being tinted. What i said was that most sunglasses are darker than most window tints, yet its not illegal to wear sunglasses.

But who where's sunglasses while driving at night which is where the risk occurs, hence tints beyond factory fit are illegal Rolling Eyes
Also, I bet insurers will take a dim view of any owners with illegal front tints if involved in a serious accident.

My whole point is that its a factory tint....not an aftermarket thing. How am i supossed to know what % of light comes through, and why would LR supply a car thats basically illegal to drive in the UK? Do these light meters get calibrated? Gone but not forgotten, 2005 RRS SC first edition, BMW 2010 Z4,TVR Tamora, TVR Cerb, MERC SL 55 AMG, E46 M3, Z4, Jag S type R, Skyline R33 GTR 640 bhp, Evo FQ 400, L322 RR, X5, Lotus Esprit V8 twin turbo, Lotus Elise 135r, Nissan Murano, Honda S2000, 911, Boxster s...and a few more

Calibration is the question I'd be asking the rozzers.
I can't believe LR would supply cars that didn't meet UK regulations, if they do then forward any fines onto them Thumbs Up

If your car is as it came from the factory and, according to the law its illegal, the under Sale of Goods it is not fit for purpose. Thus as, in theory, you can't use it - so you (and every other owner with the same spec.) could demand a full refund !!!

JLR and Pilkington would be at fault for making and fitting glass which does not comply with EU Regulations.
