Main Dealer 1st Service

Anyone got a guide "good" price for the first main dealer service?

Helps to give me a starting point before i start shopping around.

Last times first service i recall was around £350.

I should add that it will go to a main dealer - despite the fact the first service is just a tickle and stroke of the engine and some new oil. Mike

Mike,
LPR were very good for the first service for me (albeit that I ended up getting it done at a sister branch from them as a result of my car being taken in by Land Rover Assistance).
Anyway, I got it done for £370 as did Essexfarmer on here too Wink Thumbs Up

Well i've rung a fair few dealers now (8 some more interested than others Shocked ) and did get the price to £380 locally, plus the LPR bench mark of £370...but good old guy salmon matched the cheapest price and did it a little less + me sponsoring a lady in the service team for race for life, which is a fine cause anyway, so given their price and corporate responsibility - all booked in there Thumbs Up

Guy Salmon continue to be a good dealer. (just have to prepare myself for the legalised extortion that is road tax now Censored Shocked ) Mike

I think i payed £375 for my first service which included free courtesy Evoque. Mike, make sure you ask them to check for any software updates, my motor required 2 on the gearbox/transmission. Shocked I'm 100% sure its made it worse though, especially at low speed, Whistle high speed its fine. ive taken out an offer of a service plan for the next two services which includes, all parts & labour (for services) free tyre insurance for punctures, (not replacement tyres Sad ) discount on all parts and accessories, 10% i think. And free courtesy car for all service visits. they try to get you to cover insurance cost usually Laughing Oh, and free MOT at 3 year old. Thumbs Up

Thanks - they are pretty good in fairness to them, they do have a infotainment update to apply (they remembered) and they usually do the updates required - the courtesy car is in - its always offer it (it has to be otherwise I couldn't get to the plane that day!)

As for a service plan, ive considered it a few time, unfortunately I don't think I will have the sport at year 2, so there is little point - I do have tyre insurance separately though and free MOT's for the life of the car. I get free washes, spa trips, discount on accessories and a few other things under one of their other schemes. Mike

I don't consider price, I go on where I get the best service. Buy cheap buy twice is often the way.

Whilst i would usually agree with you on that point unfortunately on this, its not the case - don't underestimate how little there is to do on a first service, i do the other cars with genuine parts (most key things like this i only ever use genuine parts), more than the published service in almost no time for less £100

1.5hrs max plus 0.5hr max for everything else - 2hrs labour.

If i can do it at £100 max then it stands to reason, with overheads and parts some dealers at the £400 - 600 mark are making £200-400 for very little and then buy in bulk at trade and have volume Mike

Mike,
Mine had the 3 rear service which is the same as the first at £395 which sounds about right for yours at £380. Most others were quoting £450 odd in Glasgow and Edinburgh. It was actually the first time I didn't have to barter the price down
