I don't think there will be a massive drop to be honest, new models come out all the time and most of the time these sort of things are factored in already, not just at the launch of a new model. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Plus the new one wont be available until around Q3 or even Q4 - so by the time you see enough to make a dent in sales etc its over a year away possibly June 14 Mike

That's disappointing I was hoping for a little help to bring the prices down. Maybe if fuel prices rise again less people will be inclined to buy big 4x4 especially in summer. At least that's what I'm hoping for |

Ha great, not only do you want everyone's car to devalue but also for the cost of fuel to rise? Aren't you just a bundle of joy |

I would take the Full fat as a model for this. There are some stonking deals out there to be had for old model and little or no discount for new model. The old model falls in value very quickly, you can buy an ex demo for 60% of new price but private sales and second hand forecourt prices are still respectable. I would take an educated guess the new sport will behave in similar fashion. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Buying a new makes iittle sense. I do it for living, selling to people factory cars, but I never would buy one for me. I buy management cars for me, cars that were driven by dealers and factory management (not test cars), with cca 10,000km and 8 months old, I get 30-40% discount from the list price. I bought in December 530xd touring for my wife from Munich factory, I received 33% discount and 7,000 EUR commission on the sale as a dealer. So, I got 40% discount on the car that costs 65.000,- EUR list price. People in Europe lose every year 9.7 billion EUR on cars value every single year. This 9.7 billion EUR is where dealers like me make money So peope will lose money and the price of fuel will go up 3-5% every year until 2020. |

Be warned, even if you get one at a knock down price, these things are not cheap to run, £100 fill ups and repairs if not in warranty can easily drain the bank ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i MERCEDES GL350 - Metallic Navy Blue w/Grey interior GOING: BMW F31 335D MSport+ xDrive Touring GONE: Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE - Stornaway Grey w/Black Interior (wish we'd kept it ) GONE: BMW F10 520D MSport - Carbon Black GONE:MY12 RRS SDV6 HSE Sumatra/Ivory/Grand Black Privacy glass |

That's backed up by fact that my car is costing about half its value to put back on road. Yearly running costs are high apart from fuel. A cheapie bargain usually isn't quite such a bargain when you start having to fix the issues that make it cheap. Only time you will get a bargain is when somebody's backside is in a sling and those chances are like rocking horse droppings 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
