Buying

I have been looking about for info on this and there seems to be a bit on the diesels. Im narrowed down to 2, both v8 supercharged hse. Both in the 80k mark, im after the lower tax band year so beginning of 06.

Looking i dont think 80 is that bad (is it)? Some out there have done 140k, so they have got there, but I am guessing a 140k motor is a stay clear.

Some on here say short run motors are worse than the high motorway milers. Now a lot of rrs seem to be one owner mum cars for the school run, with comparatively low miles in fairly good nick.

Thing is there is no way of knowing, I know about the suspension knock and to look at the rear ARB unit but is there any thing else to look out for in this year milage car 80k. except the usual air suspension etc. Any rot spots or chassis issues. Are there any tests to do on the test drive. Ive heard that they don't pull if the trackings out due to the computer compensating, is this correct?

Looking at spending 20k max as its a second car for pheasant shooting and dog walking but will be doing holiday runs as well as me ripping about when i feel like it.

Steve

Scotland 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Don't really know much about the Supercharged model other than it has an amazing 4.2 supercharged engine. Cool
However the things to look out for pretty much applies to all RRS models.

Things to look out for is make sure it has a full service history including a gearbox oil change, it drives well with no obvious knocks or faults, make sure all electrics work, test the air suspension to make sure it fully works.

I would recommend getting a local LR specialist to look over and make sure there are no fault codes and get a HPI check carried out.

Let us know how you get on. Thumbs Up 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool
