Not a great start to RR ownership!

So, picked up car on tuesday. Didn't drive it wednesday but had a meeting 160 miles away today.

Drive down all good, lovely on the motorway. Drive back finished up like this:

Gearbox warning light and significant oil leak, presumably from the gearbox.

Cant fault LR recovery who were brilliant. Organised recovery, taxi's for the other people I was bringing back from the meeting, and a RR Sport rental from Enterprise whilst it goes off to the dealers tomorrow.

Have to laugh otherwise I'd cry - sincerely hope this isn't a sign of things to come!

Thats not a very good start Whistle I hope it doesn't spoil your very short ownership too much and that its just a one off breakdown. Big Cry Quite embarrassing having your new motor break down just after you have bulled it up to your passangers. Embarassed
Hope it gets sorted very soon. Wink

What a shame, LR recovery are very good...as they have had lots and lots of experience.
Same happened to me on second day of ownership, battery died, they asked me had I left anything on overnight, usual blame the customer bull.
It turned out the battery was Censored but in all fairness they replaced it free of charge.

Waiting for LR to give me a call.

Got a 2012 hire car loaded with all the toys. Quite like the rotating gear selector, but reverse cameras seem a gimmick

nightmare! consolations...

Mines not been a great start either... broke down a week after getting it with the dash lit up with every error under the sun (completely dead)... turned out to be a broken wire on the CAN bus connecting to the ICM. Then more warnings (Suspension, Transmission, HDC, ABS...) a few weeks later - dealer has still got it figuring it out... but it seems to have multiple problems - TCM was full of water apparently, so that was changed and they thought they had got it... but no... fuel pressure was apparently the latest diagnosis after getting LR involved... but still working on it after having it for nearly 3 weeks.... will wait and see what the latest is

Fantastic car when its working though...
