Snapped pad sensor wires caused major problems

Hi guys

I have just changed the front discs and pads all round and snapped two pad sensor wires as they were were brittle (1 front and 1 rear). I have to send off for these as didn't have any.

All ok so far but as a consequence the warning lights have come on as you would expect relating to the braking system, but the HDC alarm has also come on and I can't operate the air suspension to change the car height.

Should I worry about ths latter alarm/message in the knowledge this will rectify one I have replaced the two pad sensor wires?

Hoping someone has experienced this before.

It is something more sinister than a brake pad sensor.

Check to make sure the ABS sensor wiring has not been damaged/disturbed. It is the same type of plug, and sits right next to the brake wear sensor connector Thumbs Up

Quick update:

Just back from garage after finding that the ABS sensor wire had been caught in a bolt and snapped. Simple replacement and all sorted.

It's bizarre how such a small fault can throw everything wild. I had the HDC disabled, active lights fault, height change blocked, all special programmes disabled, ABS and DSC faulty and finally hand brake fault. Was so pleased to see them all fixed.

Back to happy ownership again. Lol TDV8 HSE, Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm), Taylored sport exhaust system by Pipe Werx
