Brembo Brake Conversion

Are the brembo calipers that come as standard on RRS only on the front? If I were to upgrade my 2006 RRS to brembo front calipers and discs, is it a straight forward job without any other modifications?

Will I require larger disc protectors to accomodate them?

The rears are also larger, approx 20-25mm in diameter Thumbs Up

You will require new calipers, discs + pads on the front. IIRC, the flexi pipes are different, but will still fit. Not 100% sure about the backplates being the same, but they can always be trimmed to fit. And you need a minimum of 19" wheels to fit over the calipers Whistle

To upgrade the rear, you need larger caliper carriers, and discs (rear pads are the same, but you would fit new pads at the same time as replacing the discs, and rear calipers are the same too)

Ah ok, so front and rears are normally brembos, no problem. Was going to do the fronts but will wait till I find a complete set.

Are standard s/c rears brembos?
So the hangers and disc will fit straight onto a 2006?

You don't have to upgrade the whole lot at once, you can do one axle at a time. I will add a safety warning though, I would upgrade the fronts first, before the rears. It probably wouldnt make much difference to the stability of the car under heavy braking, but there will be more braking effort on the back end, which may be mismatched to the braking effort of the standard fronts. Worst case, it could make the back end unstable under heavy braking...

Mitch, yes Thumbs Up

Straight swap Very Happy
