United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

I had a 4.4V8 X5 and I loved it, then an RS6 which wasn't so fine, then moved to a 57' TDV8 which was nice and now have the face lifted TDV8 which is Censored lovely,I'd definately hold out for the facelift, the interior is 100% better, you dont buy a Chelsea tractor if your bothered about MPG,I get very low 20's around town and it always rises on a good run, drove down to Gibraltar last year in my old TDV8 and averaged 29ish
Go for it Thumbs Up 10 TDV8 Santorini

If you go for the 1st Gen (05-09) models, you probably will regret it.

The facelift looks a lot better and the interior is a nicer place to be, much more matched to the X5 than the 1st Gen RRS.

You can probably see by spending a few minutes on the forum that they are not very reliable, but when they do work....they really are something special.

It took me a long time to get used to mine and I spent ages comparing it to my Q7, but there is no denying when it works its awesome

Best of luck Thumbs Up LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

I have had an X3, X5, TDV6 and now have the TDV8, although I must admit the X3 had the least problems and the TDV6 had the most I wouldn't go back to BMW. Touch wood the V8 has been great so far and comfort, style and drive pleasure is much better. My X5 and X3 were petrol so I can't compare on fuel. It comes down to what you feel so test out a few I know I was hooked as soon as we changed. Price and servicing are very simillar. Good luck anyway you go. Spud Smile

Agree with this, lifes too short not to try something even if only for a short while Thumbs Up

Mileage wise, I'm only seeing late teens early twenties, but most of my driving is very short trips round town. On the motorway I'm seeing mid twenties. 2016 VW Golf GTD DSG

All you guys really getting this among of mpg..... Razz Razz Razz
I have just sold my 2006 HSE and was getting on average 19-20 if I was really lucky. Now I don't drive heavy footed and I don't drive with a feather foot either but was only getting these results. Having now to wait another 4 weeks before delivery of my new 2013MY (due to manufacture delays apparently......) I hope that I will be getting the figures that you are getting...... Can't wait as well. It is what it is and I am what I am....

My boss has just got a new X5 its a bloody good car much faster than the RRS that it replaced now my car, but I have to say I much prefer the RRS.

I had an 07 TDV8 RRS that I thought I would regret moving from to the 3.0 but performance is nearly as good but the big difference is the newer interior is 100% better hence the plus 1

An X5 is a better drivers car but its not a better car to drive if you understand what I'm saying, its more refined and has a lot less plastic than the X5 assuming you get the leather dash - a most in my eyes. Paul

I dare to argue, x5 is not that much faster than RRS. Here is the proof

But let's keep in mind RRS is not build for speed, but for comfort. Yet despite its brick like shape it performs well vs the x5m in the video above. Vadim A.

Not that good a drag tbh. The X5 doesn't seem to go for it off the line, several seconds in before it drops a cog and accelerates hard.
I agree with you on the RRS not being built for speed but i suspect it's not a priority for most buyers other than the V8 boys.

Top speed and 0-62 figures are low down on my list of priorities. Although I do like the x5 in sport mode, but the small difference doesn't bother me.

I am looking for comfort and space with having 5 and 3 year old boys.

And as long as mpg isnt any worse than the x5 (23mpg) mainly short trips

The downside of RRS over X5 is road tax being a lot more, but not a stopper.

Although I havnt got a definitive list of standard features it looks as thou I would be happy with one without extras.

My current X5 has Head up display and TV which I can live without, also massaging seats which I have used once.

Things like iPod, rear camera, heated seats, privacy glass etc would be high on list.

Don't think local dealer has any facelift tdv6 but will see what they can get, and how much they offer for mine.

Does the dash on TDV6 have a full TFT screen for speed dials etc? I have seen some pics/videos of the complete speed dials etc being a tft screen, do any RRS have these? which ones?

Would i benefit from spending more on a SDV6 rather than TDV6?

Thanks
