Is it just me or is there a lack of approved used RRS's in the main dealers at the moment?

Took a ride up to my local dealership this week and the forecourt was half empty I couldn't believe my eyes all the cars were spaced out with enough room to park a bus in between, normally I'd be breathing in to get between them and pushing mirrors in to squeeze past?

A quick search on the internet also reveals the same thing only a handful of approved cars in each - sign of the times I suppose?

I know that 5ltr S/C in out there somewhere just waiting for me to buy it - just got to find it!! Cheers Laurence.

Something definitely afoot i've been to 3 dealers all who say 'oh if our been here last week we had over a dozen' this happened in Devon, Chester and Liverpool. No 2.7 from main dealers or very few. Bit like apple when a new products released.

Also noticed independents are getting more.

Have you checked out the approved used section on land rovers website, there are 430 RRS showing in all ages and specs.
Land rover also have a pool of used cars, which the dealers can tap into to find a spec that you are looking for.

Maybe folks are looking after their pennies and dealerships don't offer good enough trade-in values ?

I guess that if you have a 5.0 s/c already and don't want to go diesel, there isn't much to go for in the LR stable either

definitely the used cars available and out there - but (and part the reason you get offers perceived to be poor) is people are buying the cars hence a fast turn over.

Supercharged models are going to be a much smaller % of total new tock sold anyway - so of that, there is probably a tight second hand market, not to mention the values issue.

The dealers round by me have an equal number of sports on the forecourt - but i notice how quick they go through them! Mike

2014 Facelift Discovery

Remember that the new plate came out last Saturday and many dealers are still delivering their initial batches of 62 plate vehicles. This means that the part-exchanges will have not been coming through in late July and August as customers waited for the plate change. Even if a vehicle was part-exchanged last weekend then it is likely that the cars will not have been prepared and ready to market until later in the week or indeed next week.

From personal experience, we have taken 2 retail part-exchanges in so far, one of which was pre-sold and the other will be on the forecourt next week. We then have another 8 (10 in total) which are scheduled to come in over the next 3 weeks at different times. Sadly (re the OP) none are 5.0 SC

The network will be delivering a much higher than normal volume of vehicles this month, therefore as time goes by the availability should improve. I will of course keep an eye out for something suitable.
