No power

Can anybody tell me the reason for a power fault.
Was driving my rrs on sat morning and went to over take a van and my rrs lost power.
There were no info signs on dash.
I stopped the car and when I tried to pick a way it was very slow.
Not using oil or water.
Went to it last night to show my father the problem and car seems fine and pulls like before.

sorry,

2.7 2007

Hmmm, my theory it being an egr fault just flew out the window.

Surprised you didn't get christmas tree lights on the dash. RRS gone

Could still be the EGR's AWD.

When mine went I had the same sudden power loss, no warning lights etc and then the following day the thing ran like normal again. It seemed that my EGR had failed, then managed to return to the closed position so the car ran like normal again. The fault was in the ECU for LR to pick up....

Officially a 2007 car should show a yellow CEL on the dash if you have EGR issues (your symptoms sould like a failing EGR, with it sometimes working, and othertimes sticking open).

But if simon says his did the same, then it's worth getting a dealership to fault read the ecu for an EGR fault.

Thumbs Up RRS gone

Awd, couldn't an 07 plate actually be a MY06 vehicle though? For example, my 57 plate (2007) has a MY08 VIN identifier. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Pass Rolling with laughter

2007 has always been the cut off for the Euro IV engine as far as I'm aware (D3 and RRS alike) but maybe there are a few pre Euro IV engines out there in 2007 cars?

Erfec10

Was the power loss coupled with excessive black smoke?
Split intercooler hose might be another avenue? RRS gone

@ OP

The best think that you can do is get the car hooked up to a diagnostic machine at either a dealer or a good LR independent who will be able to diagnose the problem for you. Until you know what faults the car is hiding in its ECU you can't reliably say what the issue is.

Sounds like an EGR issue although it's a very noticeable loss of power so someone who drives or is in the car regularly would have picked it up. LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

Power loss update

Phoned a garage in Edinburgh , Smith auto
Chap said over phone that could be a inter cooler hose or air flow switch.
Went in,put car on computer and it was a fault with the air flow switch next to the air box.
£100 it cost to get fixed.
Thanks lads for your help and suggestions.
Problem solved.
