Have you tried the 'fix all' solution of spraying a little WD40 on it to loosen anything that maybe stuck ? ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Suggest a trip to the dealer and as you are still under warranty a bit of goodwill should be in order even though tow bar did not come with vehicle Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Have you checked there's nothing stuck up inside the car part? Did it have the red 'cover' in it ?

The lock had seized on mine. The only way I could get it off was to strip down/disassemble the lock, actually worryingly easy! I was then able to get it off the car. I'm not about to publish how I did it on an open forum, but if you pm me I'll forward a procedure if you're interested. |

Had similar between old and new sport. Spray or grease socket to aid removal. Insert tow bar and whack northwards and it shold lock into place. I put it down to a dry socket ... |
