Wind noise / road noise on RRS 2009 TDV8 on one side only :(

In the last couple of weeks I hear a wind noise/ road noise something between the two on the front passenger seat which over 30 miles per hour gets very annoying.

I noticed my son covering his left ear with his hand many times and asked him why and he said because of the sound from outside. My wife asked many times to close the window properly but the window was closed fully.

Is not that bad but very very annoying. I asked my brother to drive and I seated my self on the passenger front seat and my son and my wife are right.

What did I do about this?

I checked all the windows to make sure they close properly and all the gaskets around the doors. I switched off the air vents because I thought the noise comes from outside through the vents. I checked the mirror too and one time I covered it with kitchen plastic foil so the mirror is not the blame.

What the main dealer says about this?

They drove the car and said that they don't hear anything. They said the wind noise I hear is normal because of the big mirrors. I called my sister and she brought her same car (just a couple of months newer) to prove that there is a difference between the two. They said both cars after the test seems the same.

Now, I have the car in a garage to a different LR dealer. One of their technician drove the car with me. He was not disturbed by the wind/ road noise also, he said is normal but he said that he hears a different engine noise which he will check.

Any of you had this problem?
How did you sorted it out?

Regards,
Toni !!! RRS TDV8 !!!

Yes, you might be right Mr Beancounter_74.

Why are you loughing? I am not joking. A sound comes from outside similar to when the window is not fully closed (a couple of mm). !!! RRS TDV8 !!!

Do you know if your vehicle has ever been in a accident Question If so the body may be slightly twisted or panels out of line, if not, i have heard of the door seals that have been replaced due to wear but on older models, i would try swapping yours over with your sisters and see if it still makes the same noise, if it cures it then problem solved for you Thumbs Up and you've passed your problem over to your sisters car. Laughing Thumbs Up

check your door rubber

Ever since I fitted a thule roofrack my drivers door has made slightly more wind/road noise which is highly irritating.

I can only assume the "grip" has distorted the rubber seal somehow.. RRS gone

WIND NOISE/ ROAD NOISE - PROBLEM SORTED

Good evening everyone,

The problem I had on the passanger front door is sorted now. The technician adjusted the door from the hinges.

If you have the same problem hearing wind noise / road noise now you know one of the reasons you get that noise.

Thumbs Up !!! RRS TDV8 !!!

Wind noise

Hi
2 yrs later, 2009 v8 diesel just bought , same problem , whistling / rustling near side door, bought some long handled torx keys , marked origonal positions of moveable striker plate retainers, pushed them in on all 4 doors by 4 to 5mm , NO WIND NOISE AT ALL , SUPER QUITE, door handles a little stiffer to operate now.
Try it, the results really surprised me , even at 80mph, it's like a different car.
