Locked rear wheels?

My wife experienced a problem last night when i was out of the country. She called to say the rear wheels were locked (she thought the parking broke was stuck in the on position). When i got home this morning and tried the car the rear wheel on the drivers side was dragging or locked when I tried to move slowly. I switched the car off and started again and everything was OK. No electronic warnings were showing. Anyone experienced similar issues? RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE 2012 Santorini Black

Yep, this was known problem with the EPB (electronic park brake) it happened on my old car, a 2007 model.
I never use the EPB on my car when it's parked. There's no need. It's not going to roll anywhere when the gear selector is in "P" anyway. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Handbrake discs were apparently shattered? Replaced + rear discs at same time. Had to be recovered by AA to dealer as couldn't drive car but all fixed within 24 hours less a few ££! RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE 2012 Santorini Black

Yep, the pads are designed to shatter if above a certain load is put on them. When you were trying to pull away with the handbrake effectivly on this is what will happen. Mine did exactly the same. The LR tech told me it was for safety reasons because if for some reason the brake activated whilst driving the pads shatter rather than risking the stability of the car. Mine were all repaired under warranty when it happened. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
