Had my Range rover about 10 days now all going well 2008 sport TDV8

And noticed it had the removable tow bar fitted and the goose neck in the undertray in boot floor...

Went to move my car trailer as you do and guess what ???

No fricking electrics fitted at all not even under the cover in bumper

Whats that all about ??? tow bar goose neck bit was spanking new never been used i know why now

Seriously though, that's a bummer, get the dealer to check if it was fitted at factory, you might have a claim, but I would think the previous owner bought a bar on eBay and didn't get round to fitting electrics !

always assume there are no electrics fitted... then you'll never be dissapointed.

I bought mine with no tow pack... but when I got home from picking it up the cover panel had fallen off (vallet man had loosened it). initially I was a bit miffed but then I noticed there was single electrics in there... so £16 lost, £150 gained  RRS gone

If the previous owner only had a small Erde type trailer from Halfrauds then they may not have needed trailer electrics - I was advised when I damaged the lighting wiring on my Ivor Williams trailer that as, when it is loaded, it didn't obstruct the car's brake and indicator lights then I didn't have to worry about the inoperative trailer lights. This was a police officer who advised me after I had been using my trailer off road................. and he had been following behind me for most of the day in his "works" Defender! His comments didn't stop me from going to the local Ivor Williams centre and getting the wiring and one light unit replaced the day after I got home. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Local tow bar place is doing me a good deal on a gunuine land rover electrics kit he has in stock that has been orded for someone else that aint been babck all in £90 happy with that fitted..getting done tomorrow.... Live life to the full its the only one your getting.

Neo, just a point to remember - I'm sure many members here have found out the hard way (a QR Tow hook that won't come out of the socket) never leave the QR hook in the socket for too long, they seem to corrode into place quite quickly and require extreme measures and often a lot of heat to extract when you do need to take them out. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

good point will remove after use for sure... Live life to the full its the only one your getting.

Good advice.

Plus they get nicked for a pass time (even when locked) so another reason never to leave it in when not using it.

just thought id move the car trailer out and guess what no hook or electrics.why buy a range rover without towing ......go figure
