Notwithstanding our need for speed.........{IF} LR removed the extra weight associated with producing a proper 4x4 and slimmed down the thickness of doors etc as to make it more BMW like-for-like, it too would achieve a probable similar 0-60 time etc.

Twin-turbo / Triple-turbo or whatever, its more about capability than speed in these types of vehicles, always should be the foremost thing when choosing. BMW relies on the engine to get the buy-in by its fanbois, in most other areas within this category, its totally inadequate. L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Keep up at the back sherlock Wink

Are you seriously suggesting that engines have not been getting both more powerful and more efficient over time, irrespective of engine capacity!

No I didn't say that. What I was saying was that for an engine of one size, especially in the last couple of years, have either improved in power/speed or efficeniency, but typically power is compromised by mpg or vice versa. TDV8 HSE, Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm), Taylored sport exhaust system by Pipe Werx

I'm neither hoping nor suggesting......I thought the context, comparison and second para somewhat highlighted my distaste of such a venture by LR, i.e. copying BMW and it's obvious inadequacies. Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Just checking...anyone that likes BMW's should be arrested...it would be the single most useful thing the police would ever have done.

BMW cant invent greatness, they buy it (purchase of Land Rover) and even then they didnt get it right. Mike
