Will the Evoque bring Sport prices down?

I am a newb, please dont jump on me, but...

With the Evoque soon to be more widely available will people looking for fuel economy be trading out of RR Sports?

I obviously dont think that the two are comparable cars, but some folk will been keen to get their hands on the "new thing" like all new technology / cars etc.

I am looking for a Sport currently and my local 4x4 garage have told me to wait until March when they predict a glut of secondhand RRS on the market. RRS HSE TDV6 2006 - current wagon

More likely there will be a glut of RRS's on the market because the risk of deep snow has gone and folks don't want a 4x4 for the summer.

I think you would also be surprised at the number of former posters from this forum are coming out of the woodwork over on babyRR.com. Mostly people who were 2005/2006 buyers who then moved on to things like sportier BMWs and Audis and have decided that they no longer like them and are now buying Evoques.
I loved both my RRS's and the FFRR's - times are changing, my cars are privately run and today's RFT and fuel costs are hitting hard - lower RTF and 40mpg average is a big draw! As most of my driving is done solo the size of the car doesn't matter, it's more important that it is hushed and comfortable and the Evoque scores 10/10 on those fronts 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I'm with you Tim, spoke to Misery earlier regarding this very topic, since I departed with the HST I have burnt through quite a few other cars, specifically the so called Uber wagons. Yes they are nice, yes they drive well, yes they do what is expected at {IMO} an inflated price, but they don't even come close to a RR which is why I got Big Daddy. They may not go wrong (as much) and this applied to this batch only (previous Ubers were a damn right embarrassment - SL55, a £100k+ car, leaked like a sieve, so called top of the range 7 series, in the workshop more than on the road), the list goes on...........I think in reality the RR brand is no worse than the Germans in terms of issues, its just that their cars are so woefully dull in comparison to the Range Rover magic.

I lasted a mere 7 weeks after I sold the sport and having taken in a brand new Audi before the itch started.........only intended as a stop gap and she will stay with me until the L405 arrives back end of next year - we have secured No1 and No2 slots on the order books respectively Mr. Green

Most RR owners {shouldn't} care about fuel costs, if they do, they are in the wrong car, go buy a Nissan Micra or suchlike. The Evoque is a winner in terms of fuel economy (excluding the Ford petrol), looks and by driving it, build quality, it has the badge (which most people aspire too) and will not impact RRS or any other LR product, possibly excluding the F2 which only by size is a similar type vehicle. L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Evoke and Sport are different markets - the new (eg not released yet) sport will further address the line up further.

Personally im not a fan of the evoke and the sport does different things and has different feature.

Lower RFL would be nice, fuel for me is ok - sport does well @ 33/34mpg, could do better...I do watch fuel prices and moan a little - not because of what the car uses or doesnt use, but because the robbing blinders are taking it when is should be about 0.90ppl.

Anyway, cars go through peaks and troughs of price and popularity - but the sport is up there still as a high volume seller and will be...personally its cooler and just better than the evoke; which is a ponse machine Mike

Will, while I was at Gaydon on Tuesday last week I saw a different L405 or RRS mule - this one in shades of blue zigzag disguise. The slope of the roof line was much more evident under the disguise, unfortunately I was coming up the offramp from the southbound M40 at Gaydon and it whizzed passed the junction at the end of the slip road and disappeared of towards Gaydon and I couldn't catch up with it.

Just the same reaction came from FFRR and D3 owners to the Sport when it was launched.............. so Land Rover has maintained a tradition of launching "ponse" cars then. I was there right at the beginning of RRS having been one of the the first owners posting here and owned 2 of them, I've experienced the name calling before and it doesn't detract from what, like the RRS, is a very good car. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
