Spare wheel pressure check

Is there an easier way of checking the pressure in the spare wheel, other than winding the wheel down to the ground? I had hoped there was access from the tool tray but have failed to find anything.

I hope there is a blindingly obvious method I've missed as lowering the wheel is hardly fun in a garage forecourt.

Come on - it only takes about 5 mins to lower and get the wheel out at home. Stick it in the back and check the pressures at the filling station or use a foot pump!!

When you get home put it back in place.

Actually you can usually get at the valve with it lowered without taking the wheel off the winch - at least remember to put it back so the valve is at the rearmost position for future ease of checking.

Needs to be pumped up to maximum for the tyre ~ usually 40psi.

If you ever need to use it let the air out untill its correct for the front or rear.

Good idea... except that both are nearly 200 miles and 36 hours away. Big Cry

So no easier way then. Your reply seems to assume a youngish rather fit owner, none of which matches my profile sadly
