England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
RRS HSE TDV8 Purchased

Hello everyone

I have just purchased a RRS HSE TDV8 in Java black 2008 and I thought its time to join a RRS forum! No more BMW X5 forum.

The car is being delivered on Wednesday and I cant wait.

Had a few questions, is Java black a solid colour or a pearl paint? It looks solid to me but according to Parkers its a pearl paint? the car is mint with only 28000 miles and extras such as sunroof, sidesteps and privacy glass as well as the usual HSE extras.

Also was USB/Ipod connection an option?

Last thing I am really wanting the HST kit, would anyone know where I can buy this and get it fitted professionally?

Look forward to hearing from you guys and posting in the future.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy the RRS - the TDV8 is a great engine.

Java black is a solid black.
USB/Ipod isn't standard

As for HST I don't know but the girls on this forum will! Wink 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Java is metallic

Aux input is in the back, under the rear central vents, it may be under the hideaway flap

Thanks Guys for your replys,

Gtsteve I did see the HST kit on ebay and emailed the person selling it asking for some more info, as in if the grill is included etc. Im sure it was starting bid of £1850 and now its jumped to £1990 without anyone making a bid on it?

Lets hope the colour is metallic, will find out on Tuesday.

Cheers

Nash you will love it. Slight turbo lag when you take off, or kick down but you'll get used to it - the sound & power are superb. Comfort? Unless youve had something similar before, I reckon it even beats the FFRR. I'd go steady on body kit until you have lived with the standard car for a while - personally I prefer the understated look. MPG about 26 if you treat it with care.

have fun Thumbs Up

Nash, I have had mine a few months now and it is brilliant!!! And you have done right by joining here. You may get a few of the 'faults' that Land Rover call 'Sport characteristics', but the info available on here allows you to do your own troubleshooting if you experience something strange.

I have just had the anti roll bushes renewed on mine after experiencing front end knocking, I gave them a list of what it could be after searching the other members postings Very Happy

Even with the slightly annoying knocks it was brilliant. Now it is just orgasmic, I hope you get as much fun out of yours as I do.

Which brings me to a new problem I have but I do not know where to post it or find the right advice; I hope you don't mind me jumping on your thread.
When I was booking it in for this work I mentioned it was still under warrantee.
But they said it wasn't!
The registration says September 2008.
They say it should be January 2008.
I refused to pay anything and they gave me the keys.
The Service bloke said he would look into it further.
I wrote them with all the details and my concerns.
No contact since Wednesday
Anybody got any suggestions? Now - Black 2008 3.6 TDV8 RRS orgasmic
Gone - Black 2006 2.7 HSE RRS problems
Gone - Green 2008 SWB Defender fully loaded; brill
Gone - Green 2005 Disco diesel; brill

can i just high five you on getting the TDV8 - you will not regret! I had a real dilemma as having fallen in love with my 57 plate TDV8 I was then stuck for buying a new one as they stopped making it. So yesterday I managed to find a 10 plate TDV8 to my liking Smile

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic21990.html if anyone happens to be interested in a 57 plate TDV8 that I now have for sale!

This engine is one of the best I have ever experienced - time to start a petition to get LR to offer it on new cars again!

England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Just to let you know guys. It turns out, car is metallic! Very few metallic flakes in the paint for some reason, but still looks awesome.

Also found the USB port, thanks!

Loving the sound of the TDV8!

Sorry to go on again about the same thing but can anyone recommend anywhere where they supply and fit the HST kit? I know there is a couple on eBay but I would rather go to someone that is recommended, just to have piece of mind.

Thanks
