delay in throttle and misfire esp when starting RRS NA V8

hey guys
driving my 06 RRS V8 HSE and feeling a delay in throttle when around 2k rpm and at other rpms
u can feel it the most when u want to start the car it takes longer and sometimes fails to turn on

mechanic changed spark plugs and air flow meter but no improvement since nothing really changed so he made pay for the air flow meter for no reason

in the end he's blaming it on the petrol and is suggesting flushing the fuel tank and clean the injection system

any ideas? please this is super important

Had this a couple of times with mine, but nothing like as bad as you seem to be encountering. Only happened when it was extremely cold as well, so again, not something you'll be suffering I expect. It misfired for the 1st few seconds then cleared, even stalled a couple of times. I've certainly had the throttle delay as well.

All I can suggest is checking to see if it has an air leak, when the engine's running look at the breather valve on the left hand side of the engine (as you stand looking at the front, it's a black circular object mounted at the front of the rocker cover)) and see if it's whistling, if so then by pressing down on it you'll hear the whistling stop / start. If that's whistling, you have an air leak on the induction system and if it's anything like the grief I've just had with my 4.4 NA, you'll need a new throttle body to fix it. Start by taking off the induction pipe and looking at the throttle butterfly, if it's covered in a sheen of oil, clean it all down with solvent and that might make an improvement. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE.
