jacking up issues with a RRSport

anybody heard the scare stories about not jacking up the RRsport off the ground because it causes the suspension airbags to drop and damage? Had a couple of garages mention this to me now, but i need to jack my car up to remove wheels and do a little work. Is this a load of rubbish and Is it safe to jack these up? or is there some special procedure required? Confused

Use a different garage............it sounds as if they are just incapable and resistant to the brand for whatever reason. AS VA has stated, not heard of issues. L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Use the LR jack or trolley jack under suspension arm.

No problem with this on D3s, sounds a load of rubbish to me. I change my wheels often either with an airjack or trolley jack under the chassis rail.

Remember if changing the near side rear to be careful where you put the jack.....loads (me included) have put the jack in the wrong place and damaged the air suspension pump bracket!!!

They are probably worried about the capability of their equipment and liability, as the jacks will be lifting to almost their max height and these cars are very heavy and very expensive. When I had some tyres changed the guys at my tyre place were jacking away for ages before the wheel came off the ground Smile

On my MY2011 RRS the book says to ensure offroad height is selected before jacking up. I did that when changing to winter wheels and tyres and have had no problems since.

I just had a puncture and jacked the car up from its lowest access setting without a problem and then changed the wheel over later at work with the suspension on normal again no problem. There used to be a big problem with the old P38 Range Rover and that is probably what they are thinking about. Rolling Eyes
