Lovely looking car Kam with fairytale spec (Nice AMG alloys) but those residuals Shocked !

Our Group Vice Chairman at work has a black CLS 55 AMG on a 55 plate. Nice motor!

On a funny note, our directors at work are all defecting from E270CDi's into XC90's.

There face was an absolute picture when I rooled up at work with the RRS and managed to bag a spot in the Directors car park just as 3 (Including my Sales Director) arrived for work! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

My boss's bro (Good guy) is a Sales Director for our soft drinks division and he's now decided to opt out and trade up to a RRS SE in Buck Blue Laughing

I did a quote on saturday on the internet and build our required car, and it came out to just under £65k. I think for the new s class, you would have to have the new toys thats been designed for it.. reversing camera, distronic cruise control, and the infra red night sight.. Also the 19" AMG's are a must, if not the 20" ers! lets see what the finance guy says on tuesday and what residuals they can come up with.. its a nice big comfortable barge and will be a good replacement for the 7 series.. but bit worrying about the future residual prices.

SuperT, i nearly bought a new CLS 320CDI in dec 2005, was offered a new car immediately.. black with red, and excellent spec.. was tempted, but they gave me crap trade in for the RRS and although it looks nice.. its just too much of a fashion fad car, the market could fall out of the bottom of it at anytime! plus the 4 seats, and the low roof profile made me thing of its practicalities. That was another car that they were refusing to give good residuals for.. with normal spec it was coming out to £48ish K and the residuals were not taking into account any spec, and MB were unable to bump it up even with dream spec, so it was either purchase a budget spec one, and get decent figures or don't bother and wait for prices to fall.. but once they start falling they won't stop so its a tricky situation.. they are bringing out a C class 4 door coupe (smaller version of the CLS) and the S class will over shadow it once they start rolling out in big numbers and become more readily available. MB are playing an oddball game.. think they are dilluting their brand too much trying to chase Bmw and increase their sales numbers, when more often then not, their prices are soo high that they price themselves out of the running..

just looking around at new s class prices, and my god, am i glad we didn't pick one up in the end... depreciation isn't the word! over priced.. over supplied barge, worst supply management ive ever seen to be frank.
You can now pick up an S320 CDI with all the toys, list price circa 65k for 52ish with like 1-2k miles on the clock.. what a absolutely failure of a launch, worse then bmw's M3 csl! dropping value quicker then anything ive ever seen. At this rate, they will be high 30's before we know it.. and we'll be trading the A8 diesel pronto!! happy days.. love it when im right about a car..

Kinda gave the game away and took the shine off it when i was ringing round dealers asking for price and spec, and they were saying, well what colour and what spec do you want? we have pretty much every colour/combo in stock, at merc direct.. jokers..

Reckon i could now get figs for this car to fall in line with around 650 pounds per month with a sensible balloon and no deposit! what an absolute bargain.. these were more like 900-1000+ less then three months ago!
