BK i think 4 to 5 years is optimum, especially if you have the extended warranty it allows some carry forward warranty on the vehicle being sold.. and typically the trade in is hopefully higher than any residual..

Ivery i can tell you the old 2.7 performance vs the 3.0L is miles apart, the 3.0L really shifts even from stand still, even better when wanting to overtake, no need to shove it into sport, just kick down and it flies Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
