I haven't a clue what could have caused engine failure at that low a mileage.

But two things I would be doing if i was in your shoes;

I'd Start drafting a letter to Land Rover explaining the problem and as the mileage is so low they may out of courtesy pay for a new one or at least go half's with you.

And get someone else to look at it...I just cant believe the whole engine needs replacing!

My first bit of advise is don't use Guy Salmon Thames Ditton. Saying that I doubt their diagnostic is wrong and unfortunately you're in for an expensive bill that's why I would get an inde LR service centre to do the work it'll be less on the labour. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I'd probably not bother writing to LR as it has been re-mapped they will just give you the brush off 16 model year yulong white autobiography

Try Guava in Guildford - tell them you were directed by the forum to them. Speak to Will. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Hmmm I wouldn't suspect an engine failure with them symptoms !! Did they even look at it or did they take your word for it? I'd get a second opinion from another dealer as it sounds more like an electrical problem than a mechanical one!! If it aint broke leave it!

That's what I forst thought - there was no bang, no puff of smoke, no fluid and the car rolled along the road.

Doesn't sound like the engine was seized when they got the car - if someone tried testing it without remembering to put back the oil, then it may be seized now....

Nobody needs to know about remap and egrs Wink

My money is on a clogged up fuel filter as the original fault. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
