1100 miles in four days

Just returned from a 4 day jolly around Devon and Cornwall.

While the RRS behaved well and never missed a beat I cant help feeling a little underwhelmed cos it wasn't quite the luxurious cruiser I expected it to be. Wind noise was intrusive over 70mph and the tyres very susceptible to surface changes on the m-way. The auto wipers and ACC drove me mad.

Overall managed 26.7mpg over the 1100 miles which is fine.

Just got to polish out the scratches on the wing mirrors from those pesky country lanes.

I hope I can resist the temptation to defect to a FFRR............. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

bradders,
i have just done brittany and back from scotland, and mine is the most comfortable car i have driven, maybe i am just landrover shaped!! i used to get a dead leg driving my merc ML for any distance! try a current v6 before you go big with the ffrr, as mine is very quiet with the laminated side windows!
i agree with it being a bit skittish in the wet, seems to aquaplane easily on motorways even without touching the brakes!!

cheers
dave MY10 TDV6 SE (debadged Wink ), Santorini Black, Flappy paddles, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers, Mudflaps!

Gone: a comprehensive list of imprezas and a Merc ML AMG

i would have to totally disagree.. regularly do a 300 mile round trip to Wales and find the ride sublime! i'm a 57 plate TDV8, don't know if you are different? and (on private roads) 120mph is handled gracefully.

Belgium 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Buckingham Blue

Just done John o' Groats to Belgium in a 57 plate TDV8 towing a trailer 50mph was handled with supreme ease Mr. Green
We took the longer road via Ft William and then by Kinlochleven and Glen Coe, havn't been that route since I was a teenager, some spectacular views. and some twisty bits but the trailer managed to keep up Whistle

On my Landcruiser with the original fitment Dunlop Grand Trek tyres it was very very skittish in the wet and threatned to swap ends on many occasions, on the motorways I would be down to 30-40mph if it was wet, could not get rid of the tyres soon enough and fitted Yokohama SD04 A/T tyres and that changed the handling, go anywhere and gripped the road like s..t on a blanket Smile Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Have had this problem, found the higher tyre pressures recomended for more load and passengers, makes this a lot worse.

found dropping couple of psi below what is recommended makes it a whole lot better

Yep certainly sounds like the problem as I'd pumped them up to 40psi all round before we left. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
