bulldog-winston - thanks. Tried this tonight and it appears to have worked perfectly. If it's not worked for others it might be because they have not held the trip reset button down for long enough?

Autel OLS301 works

For the benefit of those for whom this procedure doesn't work (because it is not enabled), I have successfully reset using the Autel OLS301 Service tool. £110 on Amazon, I got one second hand for £55 on eBay. Anyone who wants to is welcome in Surrey for a free reset.

I've never ever had my service indicator come up so never needed resetting

It's such a small notification under the speedo (at switch on) you probably never noticed !
