Ipod/AUX connection

I was wondering if anybody is having the same problem I am having, and if there is a solution.

I hooked my Ipod to the AUX outlet in the back of the center console. The wire fits perfectly both int he Ipod and in the AUX hole. For some reason, I am only getting sound out of one side of the RRS when I play the Ipod. The speakers work fine for everything else, but onyl one speaker for any song that I chose. I checked the wiring and everything seemed fine,

Does anybody know what may be wrong? Thanks.

If you move the connector in the ipod or aux socket does the other speaker work? (serious answer!) 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

VA: I know what you mean, if I pull it out just a bit, does it go to both speakers. I tried that, and it didn't work.

RR: I was actually riding in the car for 7 hours over two days, so it played many songs. Many of those were copied directly from the CDs, and none of them played on both speakers.

Could it be that I have the wrong wire? I tried two of them and I got the same thing.

Are you using 'Official' iPod accessory? I don't know if this will make any difference and I'm not sure where I got my cable but mine works fine.

Only problem is I have to turn my iPod mini up to the max. and turn car stereo vol. up to about 20+ to get decent sound level.

Very good sound quality though! Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

For sound issues I've been told you should try the software 'gopod' 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Or use the Belkin line-out amp and charger... you don't have to turn the head unit volume up to ear shattering levels then. At least when your phone rings, the windows don't explode Wink

Hello RW,

Double check that the 3.5 mm wire you have going into the IPOD and going out to the AUX JACK actually has 2 coloured rings on it, and not just one...that will tell you if it's a stereo or mono jack.

As others have mentioned, Belkin makes good wires and chargers, just stop by the nearest electronics store. If that doesn't do the trick, perhaps the actual AUX jack is defective.
