Annoying isn't it? my Mrs has a Honda Civic ..this has the same pathetic bottle of gloop, and a compressor, next to useless IMHO. The first thing I did was buy a space saver wheel / tyre kit for it, luckily it does fit in the boot , just,(a full size spare wouldn't), and it does have jack+ brace. nope. No run flats. Standard Michelin Energy tyres. But it does have the run-flat electronic deflation warning system on the dash - and it works! If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....

Well having a moan at them, might make them think about contributing towards a spare wheel, jack and any necessary plastic bits etc. required to make it a proper fitment, if it can be done muffd, worth a try I would think.. I think you will get a reply to the effect that they have fullfilled their legal obligations to provide a means of temporary repairing the problem. I wouldn't bother writing to them as the car wouldn't have got type approval if they hadn't put the gunge and compressor there. I know it is stupid and crazy not to put a spare in but it saves weight, getting their CO2 level down and saves them a lot of money when you think how many cars BMW must have produced with the same system............. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The ones here still come with a full size spare, so i guess you could buy the fittings if you really want to. |

muffd - call BMW assist - they will come and get the car and take it either to your home or garage for a new tyre. We has the same with the Mini and this was the protocol in case the tyre was shredded

The fact the car does not have run flats and has this stupid system is ridiculous. I am still going to kick up merry hell tomorrow. If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....
