2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver

Sounds like someone is going to be out playing in their Defender VERY soon Whistle

No electric - I thought Scotland hadn't been connect yet anyway? are the gas lamps still working ok?

Sorry, cheap punt at Scotland - I love it really, just never get over how remote some areas are. A road trip in my convertable once saw me almost total my car on a flock of sheep wondering in the road and then got a speeding ticket from a camera all within a mile - how extreme.

The lecky is back so is the internet. The Defender is well tucked up in it's shed out of all this horrid wet snow and salted roads....................... anyway the RRS with all the fancy electronics, good winter tyres and TR is way better in the snow than the Def on mud tyres. For a start the RRS has way better heating than the Def and doesn't shower icy cold water drops from the sunfoof surround down the driver's neck on every bump like the Def does! I also stay dry inside the RRS which I don't in the Def so it doesn't have much going for it until the going gets really really tough.

Just been 16 miles and back to town in the RRS, the worst bit is my own drive and court yard which is snow bound, the main roads are now flooded as the melt water cannot drain off to the sides where the snowploughs have been through...................... we really need more practice at the snow stuff here!

Pics!

Beware Avalanches even in the village - got the start but missed the big slide!

There's a solar powered light under there!

The view of the trees from my kitchen window - the trees are bending with the snow weight and one has since snapped off.......... Big Cry I love the trees on the common.

I'm going to brave my daily walk and will get some more pics, and show what it should look like on a sunny winter day too!

Tuesday's view from the lane where I now have a daily walk (and it's 2 mile up hill, but the coming back down is nice and easy)!

Thursday afternoon and it looks like this with 15cms of snow laying

The Scottish Electric Company boys were out having a drive in their Def 2.4 130 truck looking for downed power lines, they got up the hill no problem, straight up no stops but it was on some very aggressive Mud tyres

And then the farmer who lives at the top of the hill came up in his Mitsuibishi van and it was sliding all over the place on it's All Terrains!

It doesn't look it but the snow is wellyboot top deep

Snow finally stopped falling this morning, although what fell yesterday was mainly sleaty snow. Now we have a watery sun in the sky the snow id melting quite quickly. With better visibility it is also interesting to see how localised the snow fall was, The other side of the Forth Valley has next to no snow, but it is also south facing
Here is today's view

No need to dig the RRS out, it can climb over the snow ploughed up every drive by the council snow plough team yesterday!

The snow on the lane where I walk is still more than welly-boot deep though, but at least the ruts allow me to walk it easily

The guys in the Lecky board 130 Defender even got to offroad it - this must have been where the power line came down

In yesterday's Daily Mail in Scotland there is a picture of a D3 on it's side in a ditch near the next village.................... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
