Minus 28, winter sun & playground!!!

Decided to wash the car this morning as I found a great indoor washbay - on the way home I saw a big open area to go and play in for while. Minus 28, winter sun shining, nothing sticking to the clean car - does it get much better?

Thumbs Up

I went for 255 55 19's for winters (as the LR handbook advised) - not sure why that is? But I agree, they do fill out very nicely- the car has been in standard height all day and was photographed in standard too.

I have a set of MY2010's 20's waiting for the spring and have just fitted 275 40 20's to them and wishing now I had spec'd the sidewall slightly taller. I know it screws up the rolling radius, but if LR are happy to recommend on winter tyres, I see no issue with summer (apart from mileage etc).

I think it's a far better and safer option than locking the car into access height.

Really played with the TR / DSC / all and part off combinations - the RRS is very impressive and confidence inspiring - an amazing piece of kit.

You know you can get the dealer to recalibrate the speedo, satnav and computers for changes of tyre size. You might even be able to do it yourself, I haven't read that bit of the manual! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

another 20cms is forecast for the next 36 hours! At least the council were on the ball this morning and the main roads are clear, ploughed and gritted, but venturing off onto the side roads isn't recommended unless you are in a 4WD vehicle or tractor. I only got the RRS washed and polished yesterday too Big Cry Big Cry 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

in the sat nav settings there is an option for re-calibrating it after a tyre change.
the 255/55 R19" make my speedo under read slightly by about 2km/h but the cruise control is now spot on and gives you 120km/h if you set it to 120km/h Thumbs Up Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

well overnight we have had another 5cm at least. Would post some pics as I have never seen so much snow here since the winter of 1963/64 but we have no electricity - it went off at 8am just as my kettle boiled to fill a couple of flasks. No lecky = no router = no wired Internet so am posting from my iPhone! Just watched a telephone cable snap with weight of snow on it and watched an avalanche of snow fall off the roof of one of the houses across the street! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
