Plus don't forget the servicing costs / replacement parts cost (if out of warranty).

There is a big difference between stock / Brembos etc.

As for the choice, it really is chalk and cheese performance wise. Same body, same look, some with more/less moreish accessories. The Diesel may be a better retainer, but it is woefully SLOW.

Only you will know if the SC is an affordable option. Just remember: If you are at the lights against a Disco 3 TDV6 (2.7)........the Disco WILL beat you Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Good luck. L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

My input: The 2.7 is not slow, yes it is slower than the v8 and the SC but it shifts for a big unit.

Don't let the slow comments put you off the V6 it is a great car (test drive one).

If it was me buying one again I would get the V8, I have mine as a company car and the tax is bad enough with the 2.7, daren't imagine how much the SC would cost me! Plus the extra 10K when buying!

There's no difference in "body kit" on the SC from a diesel. Visible external differences on a stock RRS are the badging at the rear and the slightly different grille and vents, also all SCs have had 20s out of the factory. All body parts are exactly the same.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

Hi, just going through the same dilemma, slight advantage though , some may not agree, the diesel i am looking at has been superchiped. Its no SC but seams to be a lot more drivable. Food for thought and its about £550.

the bottom line is the supercharger is the one everyone would buy if money was no object.
better all round and the power is at your feet.

The bottom line is you are buying the car for its looks, its power, and the presitge value. other wise you would buy another 4x4.

If you are buying a range rover sport - then you are spending a large amount compared with other cars so who cares about spending a little extra on fuel.

you cant live a champagne live style on lemonade income.

Buy the RRS SUPERCHARGER - i did - i am picking it up on saturday but dont buy unless it has land rover service history and passes the hpicheck etc

also watch out the 2.7 that have been used to tow would mean the engine has really worked but a 4.2 v8 petrol would have been less stress if its used to two

my advice would be to buy the SC and dont look abck. Peace be upon you

As already cleared with Martin the Moderator - are you still looking for a SC?
I am selling mine once the new model arrives.

Abashir: what planet are you on? We all know what the RRS is and what they can do. If you are going to buy one, just get on with it. Oh, and mine is a 2.7 that has towed. Worked? Who have you been listening to? If you must contribute to the forum, talk sense and not this dribble. If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....

ALL Land Rovers are designed from the start to be off road AND tow cars, apart from a tow hook there are no other modifications required like adding oil coolers or uprating the engine map like several of the German brands require.
Yes towing puts and extra strain on components but LR have taken that into account for you, which is one reason why both RRS and Disco3/4 are better all round cars than either a Q7 or an X5. Excepting Freelander all Land Rovers can pull something like 3.5tonnes, it's one reason why both the Police and HA uses them for recovery of trucks off the motorway to the hardshoulder - they found that their ML's and X5's just cooked their gearboxes ............... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Bit harsh muffd ? Abashir is entitled to an opinion just as you are, the more people that contribute the better I say. Without it these threads would be very short. Very Happy

p.s I have a lowly 2.7 but would love a Supercharger............ if fuel cost was of no concern.
