That was what they said to me MAW! "We can't guarantee a LR loan car"! I paid for a 4x4 so I don't want to be pootling around in snow in a Ford Fiesta!

When I had Volvos from Arnold Clark in Wellington Road 1 time they gave me a f Censored g Rover 100! My golf clubs would fit in the back without folding the seats down!

The excuse there was they had no obligation to have Volvos as loan cars!! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

Well further to this my suspension has gone tits up today so I've just called LRA who, surprise surprise, don't have a LR technician available and are posting out an AA patrol to have a look at the car and if needed, recover it to Town and County.

This should be interesting to see if a) The AA can actually fix it and b) What kind of loan car they try to fob me off with!

If its Fiesta I can see somebodys ears glowing red hot in the next wee while! Could also be some awkward questions asked too bearing in mind some of the other posts in this thread! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

AA are here and they DO have a computer to read the fault codes etc so he's diagnosed a faulty sensor (as mentioned in the other recall thread??) But he doesn't know which 1 so he's off to T n C with it!

The loan cars are supplied by Enterprise Car Hire who will be calling to let me know when they'll be here with a car! Yet again they can't guarantee a LR product or even an auto which I need (due to an accident but that's another story). I also have to supply a CREDIT CARD to pay a f :censored:ing FUEL DEPOSIT!!

This is going to turn into an interesting evening by the look of it! Almost impressed by the fact AA CAN diagnose a prob but less than impressed by the loan car so far!!

Will see once Enterprise call........... Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

If they have LR's computer they CAN I.D. which sensor it is - I bet they cannot be bothered - easier for him to have it towed - You'll get a 'satistaction survey' enjoy filling it in !

I certainly will since Enterprise just phoned and offered me a bloody FIESTA and to add insult to injury a feckin MANUAL at that!!! Even after I said to the patrolman 4x4 and auto! Can't even say if I'll get anything tomorrow!

I spitting! Was supposed to be going out tonight! That's that knackered and by the looks of it I won't be going fishing on Sat either unless they want their Fifi back minus a floorpan!

CRAP best describes it! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

It just clicked that when I said to the guy from Enterprise what he could do with his Fiesta he complained that there wasn't much he could do at this time of night!

So what happens if your car breaks down at 11 at night? They leave you sitting till the office opens again? Like to see what happens in that situation especially say 10pm Sat night when the office is shut till Monday?

Also T n C do 4x4 hire so why isn't something coming out of there if LRA are stuck? Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

This morning I got offered a Ford Galaxy from Enterprise which I politely declined as I cant see it making it up the track to where Im supposed to be going fishing tomorrow. Called Land Rover customer relations and the party line on hire cars through LRA is "they are only contracted to supply A car! they are not obliged to supply a 4x4!" So thats it officiallly. Cheap and nasty loan cars if yours breaks down unexpectedly.

So basically if your Land Rover breaks down then all you are entitled to is a Fiesta or similar through the contract between Land Rover and Enterprise. Find that a bit much given the amount that we spend on these cars to begin with myself.

1st experience with LRA properly and so far it isnt exactly going wonderfully. At least VCUK supplied me a fleet xc90 when my own was in getting safety checked. Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

Maybe a letter to LRCS expressing your disgust? You buy a 4WD for a reason, you expect a 4wd to replace it when broken etc etc......................... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

What you're all forgetting is that LRA hasn't got anything to do with LR other than the name... the service is provided by Mondial (as are most mfr-branded assistance programmes). Mondial have the agreement with Enterprise to supply a loan car and they aren't committed to providing you with a car of the same make or even capability. They can also only get you a loan car if an Enterprise centre is open and then they can only get you what is available at the chosen centre.... I've successfully bitched previously at them to source cars from other Enterprise centres but I ended up with one of the Jap 4x4s if I remember. The Nissan pre-Qashqai model, forget what it's called. Anyway, they also have a daily hire rate limit, so the chances of you getting a replacement RRS out of Enterprise are pretty limited.

BMW also use Mondial to provide BMW ES, but the benefit there is that they're also happy to interface with BMW rental departments in dealerships so you're likely to get a more equivalent car....

It isn't Mondial anymore! Its the AA now! And it was LR customer relations that said "our contract with Enterprise was only to supply a car!" Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.
