United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
WARNING - 2010MY Rear LED light upgrades

Regarding 2010MY Rear LED lights

These apparently fit any Range Rover Sport, but you MUST upgrade the wiring at the back to include a resistor:
There are many being sold without the resistor so DON'T get caught out..
Can someone Technical confirm??

See below for one that DOES come with a resistor:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Range-Rover-Sport-20...1304wt_732

EASY DIY FITMENT WITH ONLY A COUPLE OF SCREWS TO REMOVE EACH UNIT AN CLIPPED OUT FROM THE REAR QUARTER

PLEASE NOTE AS THESE ARE LED UNITS RATHER THAN THE ORIGINAL BULB UNITS THAT ARE FITTED WE NOW SUPPLY ADDITIONAL WIRING AND A RESISTOR THAT WILL HAVE TO BE PUT IN PLACE BY AN ELECTRICIAN, A SIMPLE JOB FOR ANY ELECTRICIAN OR DIY ENTHUSIAST, THIS WILL STOP THE INIDICATOR SYMBOL ON YOUR DASHBOARD FLASHING TWICE AS QUICK AS IT BELIEVES A BULB IS OUT DUE TO THE LOWER AMPERAGE THAT THE LED BULBS DRAW

WE SUPPLY FITTING PICTURES AND INSTRUCTIONS ON CORRECT INSTALL

Without the resistor they DO NOT work properly 57 RRS | TDV8 HSE | Java Black | Black Interior | Side Steps | 20" Alloys

How much of a job is it to fit this 'resistor'??

I'm sure i've seem some advertised with the correct bits fitted so they just 'plug into' the car, no fiddling needed.

Thumbs Up I keep telling myself 'It's a toy'
But I've broken quite a lot of toys in my time.....

hi, basically we supply the resistor built into the wiring with a fuse built in for safety, you just need to earth one end of the wire and drille 2 holes to attch the resitor to the inner bodywork, the other end of the wire is soldered onto the the indiator wire either side after stripping the outer cover of the wire down about 1cm, i hope this helps regards martin dcc4x4 As long as your alright

2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver

I bought mine with the resistor already wired in and fixed within the light unit, they work fine.

The wiring was neat and very well soldered and insulated.

As the resistor appears to only affect the indicator lights, the heat generation from the waste load isn't too great. I left may hazzards on for 2 hrs the other day as I was on site, and there was no issue.

Resistors used on 'always on' lights (tail lights, sidelights etc) need to have some form of heat sink to dissipate the heat (in my experience of loading LED's to stop bulb failure warnings appearing).

Mine were simply plug and play Thumbs Up
