My dad drives the new Lexus RX450h works well, but I don't think they are double the cost of the standard version,

By buying a hybrid and by getting tax benefits for buying one you are only shifting the problem from an internal combustion engine in a car to a way more polluting factory that makes the right batteries and to the power stations required to recharge those cars that have rechargable batteries, unless of course we build lots of nuclear power stations which produce zero carbon (after they have been constructed!) but a lot of another form of pollution that even 40 years after the first nuclear power stations came on line, we have not a means of safely disposing of their end product so it is polluting underground caverns for the next couple of million years! Do you think that if you put a windmill on top of an electric car you would end up with a perpetual motion device......................... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Glad to hear that I am not the only one who stands for innovation and power rather than the very weak environmental argument

Im all for electric hybrids. Just use it to make 5 litre+ cars more ecomonical in traffic. Also it shouldnt be permenant hybrid. There should be a button on the dash to enable it when required. ie when their testing the vehicle for co2 emission to bring the road tax down WINNER - 2008 Best All New Photograph

At least Disco and RRS have a head start over everybody else in this field............................. they already have the huge weight burden so no need to engineer in any more! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
