I made sure i took a mechanic out with me, so he was hearing what i was hearing.

He seems to think its something to do with some bushes???

I will post ecerything thay have done when i get it back later.

Fingers crossed all will be well. Laughing

Well Here goes with the update........

Bearing in mind that i dropped the RRSport at 9.30am this morning for the knocking noise (suspected bushes / Ball joints).

I have just got the car back from Guy Salmon Stockport. They have done nothing apart from update the Nav to Nav on the Move.

The Bluetooth Upgrade couldnt be done because they couldnt get into the bluetooth???

And thats all they have done.

When i picked the car up, (at 5.30) I was told that it has to go back for 2 days next week to change the bushes and the ball joints. (this is what i took it in for to start with).

So a little miffed is not the word.

What a shower of the forementioned.

Will - in some cases, the bush replacement works, so it's best to get it done and then see if the noise is still there Thumbs Up

For the lucky ones maybe, but for us hardcore whiners Whistle (and rightly so I hasten to add) it still remains..........after 7 attempts at bush replacement, you think they just might realise it does not F Censored g work Evil or Very Mad (for all) Wink

Cannot wait to get my hands on the new one..........a single {Lada} sounding knock and that's me ditching RRS's forever, 3 poxy years is enough. Premium, more like Pathetic Sad L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

So they have replaced the active roll bar rubber mounting bushes, fitted new type 35mm lower wishbone ball joints and new steering rack tie bars (they have a ball joint at the inner ends).

South Africa 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White

My partner and I have the same issue with our RRS (his the V8 diesel, mine the Supercharge). His went in for the umpteenth time today to get the problem fixed. South African models come from the UK, so the dealer reckons TLB00204 does not apply in South Africa. (I tried to find the UK equivalent of this bulletin, but the technical site seems to be down again). The dealer today removed two small shock absorbers from somewhere underneath the vehicle, telling us that these shocks are the reason for the knocking noises and “the vehicle don’t really need them”. I did not see where these were removed from, but they remind me of those shocks keeping open the bonnet of a vehicle, only much shorter. (About 12 cm in length I would guess). I don’t for one minute believe that this could be the cause of problem. They wanted to remove my vehicle’s as well, but I refused. I will look under the vehicle this weekend to see if I can see where the shocks were removed from my partner’s vehicle. 2010 Sport Supercharged with all options apart from TV and Extended leather (wish I had the latter) (Previously 2007 RRS S/C)

Thanks Bobby, I've been keeping track of that one. Anything in particular I should look at? Or are you saying it's a waste of time to have the bulletin done? I can't remember reading of the "removal of the small shocks" solution yet. (I know it is not going to help - there is no way those could be causing the amount of noice we have. I'm more interested in what the purpose of these shocks are and why Land Rover would want the dealer to remove them) 2010 Sport Supercharged with all options apart from TV and Extended leather (wish I had the latter) (Previously 2007 RRS S/C)

949BFN,

1. Why does the dealer reckon that Bulletin LTB00204v3 does not apply to South Africa? Just because your model is from the UK? All models come from the UK. Furthermore, the Bulletin clearly states that it concerns RRS from ALL markets, VIN-range: 6A900290-9A211334. This is what your dealer needs to be concerned about.

2. The 2 "small absorbers" are clearly mentioned in this Bulletin and its advisable to remove the front ones only if your vehicle has Dynamic Response.

3. In addition to the above, the Bulletin also refers to other Bulletins issued earlier which are also related noses/thuds in the front suspension.

4. Has your dealer carried out the rest of the recommendations in this Bulletin?

I've had this problem before and fortunately, this Bulletin has helped cure it. Smile Malaysia Boleh!
