Elec H/brake trouble-HELP REQ'D.

Sad Hi all.
just thought I would let you know of a bit of a BOO BOO I made the other day whilst
investigating how to disable the electronic hand brake mechanism on my O5 RRS.
thanks to a good link on this forum I learned how to release the brake by using the
ignition key in a set sequence and removing a fused link from the batt panel.
After just doing the key bit , the brake disarmed itself and I did'nt bother to remove
the link.I was feeling pleased with myself at this point knowing that when I am ready
to remove the rear disc,I can do without damaging the elec H/brake module....so now
I decide to re arm the H/brake unit untill I am ready to change my brakes!
This is the problem.....(I cant get it to re activate itself). Now I am thinking that maybe
I need to get the scantec man round with his software to sort out this issue.
Any of you guys got a quick fix solution or have I screwed up big time ?
The wife said "why do you have to take everything apart all of the time , when your not
even ready to do the brakes yet and they were working O K?".....SHE'S ALWAYS RIGHT. Bow down sometimes its not what people are telling you that is the most interesting thing...but what
they decline to tell is .

To activate the EPB bedding in procedure:
Start engine
Press brake pedal on and off fully 3 times, and hold down on the 3rd time
While holding down the brake pedal, pull the EPB upwards 4 times, and downwards 3 times.
This should activate EPB bedding in

Bedding in procedure.

I went through the H/brake bedding in sequence and I am sorry to say
that it was unsuccessful.
I'am now starting to wonder if the ECU has stored an error and wont accept
any commands until the fault codes are cleared. My main concern is that the
EHB module(the bit with the motor in it)is not Censored .I cant see why it
would be knackered because I haven't disconnected the brakes at all.....
who knows????running out of ideas now.Perhaps I should pull the fuse that
supplys the unit and replace it again before starting the cycle over.
anybody know if the H/brake fuse is located next to the main batt? This is
a big learning curve for me....and maybe a very costly one. Big Cry sometimes its not what people are telling you that is the most interesting thing...but what
they decline to tell is .

Very Happy Hello again Bobby.
This time I have good news to tell regarding the H/Brake prob.
After more than two weeks without a handbrake I am pleased to
report that the trouble is resolved.I was told about this guy who
runs a garage in Eastbourne called SOUTH COAST GARAGE SERVICES LTD,
his name is Dave and he was a Land Rover main dealer tec before going
it alone. After plugging my motor in....his diagnostic was that after disarming
the EHB and trying to re activate it as I was,the EHB switch had built up high
resistance and somehow lost connection with the control module. He fitted a
new switch and cleared the errors leaving the park brake once again operational.
The total cost was £85.00-so not to bad really I think !
I got my fingers burnt a bit on that one but,you live and learn.
thanks again for your support mate . sometimes its not what people are telling you that is the most interesting thing...but what
they decline to tell is .
