dont totally trust the auto brake though...you may go up the back of someone (set the cruise gap quite far apart) also just so you know the brake lights do come on when it auto brakes plus it will accelerate back to set speed really fast and will kick down the box if it needs too! you also have active antiroll bars on v8 enjoy |

All the time that it is safe to! But it can be caught out and can scare the living daylights out of the car behind you if it detects something slower in front of you within the forward warning area and slams on your brembos! It's no good in snow but great in fog! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it 2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced 2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW |

Saved my life when it detected an unlighted tractor towing unlighted trailer in a sudden dense fog bank that I was about to go into and slowed the car right down from 40 to 25 and then dropped out, giving me time to get the speed right off the car in time not to hit the trailer. The forward alert also did it's stuff. ACC won't work below 25mph, but it's forward alert will and warn you of something. I wouldn't rely on it to work every time and if the fog is that dense then you wouldn't be doing more than walking pace anyway. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Lucky you! The fog isn't the problem so often here either, but soddin tractors and trailers are and they drive at 20 and pay no RFT. One of the perils of living in the countryside I suppose. Two years ago I was driving along a country road here in my Defender and suddenly we had all this foul smelling brown rain................................... the farmer was using one of those spray tankers to spread slurry and was just the other side of the hedge from the road. Fortunately for me also in the line of traffic, about 4 cars behind me were the local police in their now brown and smelly patrol car! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
